Sensei Richard Triplett is recognized as a word class athlete whose dynamic leadership has resulted in numerous local and international awards for excellence. Richard Triplett studied under the Grand Master Gordon Doversola of the Okinawa-Te Organization and was recognized as one of the USA Core. After years of studying under Shihan Doversola, Sensei Triplett opened his school to help spread the knowledge of Okinawa-Te, under the supervision of Shihan Doversola. Sensei Triplett has been teaching in the Antelope Valley since 1980 and has won numerous awards.


Some of the awards and recognitions received include:

  • Inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame on May 20th, 2023.
  • The World Karate Organization (WKO) Light Heavyweight Champion Title Belt held from March 4th, 1995 to January 31, 1998.
  • Tournament Promoters Association (TPA) Hall of Fame for Best Instructor in 1989.
  • International Dojo of the Year Award 1998.

FUN FACT

Sensei Triplett's first time seeing martial arts was watching Anne Francis on the television show Honey West. As a kid, he enjoyed practicing the moves he saw on the show. Unbeknownst to him, Francis was trained by Shihan Doversola in Okinawa Te. Thus, his passion for started at an early age.
